Repair and boost collagen
with skin needling
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy (CIT), uses an automated device to create controlled micro injuries to the epidermis of the skin. This process kick starts the skins’ healing abilities and in turn stimulates many of the skin functions which slow down with age, and through environmental damage.
The result of this process is increased production of collagen, elastin, and skin cells. This leads to the improvement of fine lines, skin texture and scarring, including acne scarring.
Microneedling and light therapy can create a powerful synergy when it comes to skin rejuvenation on the face and the body. Together, they improve skin tone, texture and elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Microneedling can also help stimulate hair growth in areas where reduced growth is present and creates micro-channels to further the effects of topical skin products.
A microneedling treatment can:
Microneedling can be used to treat a wide range of skin concerns: While many might associate microneedling with acne scars and fine lines, it's a versatile treatment that can be used to address a wide range of skin concerns, including hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, rosacea, and even hair loss. By adjusting the depth and density of the needles, it can be tailored to address specific skin concerns and achieve optimal results.
Microneedling stimulates collagen production: Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy (CIT), which means that it stimulates the skin's natural collagen production process. This can lead to improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles, and a more youthful appearance. In fact, studies have shown that microneedling can increase collagen production by up to 500% in just a few treatments!
Microneedling can be combined with other treatments for enhanced results: One of the most exciting things about microneedling is that it can be combined with other treatments to enhance its effects. For example, it can be used in conjunction with radio frequency to enhance collagen stimulation, and serums, or masks to boost penetration and absorption of active ingredients. By combining microneedling with other treatments like radio frequency, it delivers impressive results.

Is a microneedling treatment comfortable?
The treatment for most, isn't painful. The most common sensation of microneedling is a scratchy feeling which many clients even find quite relaxing. There may be some mild discomfort in more delicate areas, such as, around the eyes.
How can I prepare for my treatment?
It is best to arrive to your treatment with a clean, make up free face. There are some things that require you to stop using/taking 1 week before treatment like the use of topical treatments i.e. retinoids and exfoliants. There is also a waiting time for specific procedures like if you have recently had Botox or a chemical peel. Your therapist will
inform you of this before treatment.
Who can have the treatment?
A microneedling treatment is beneficial for anyone who wants their skin to look and function at its best. When we reach the age of 25 our collagen production starts to decline, therefore anyone over this age should take advantage of microneedling, as a preventative to ageing.
Microneedling is wonderful for those with uneven skin tone/ pigment, acne scarring, any gender struggling with hair loss and those who simply need a skin reset. Not only is this a popular facial service, but it can be used on most of the body if the skin is requiring improvement. Like all treatments there are contraindications, which means that this treatment may not be suitable for you, please check restrictions with your therapist.
What can be treated?
• Lines and wrinkles
• Scarring from acne or surgery or injury
• Enlarged pores
• Stimulates hair growth
• Pigmentation
• Poor skin texture
How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended to receive between 3-6 needling treatments. These are each spaced out over a 4-6 week period. Quarterly treatments will help to maintain your
results.
What happens after treatment?
You will likely experience strong erythema (redness) and a sunburn type sensation after treatment. Total down time will depend on your skin but many note that it has returned to normal in as little as 24 hours, although 2-4 days is common. You may experience some skin flaking around days 3-5, this is normal, and we recommend that you refrain from scrubbing or picking. Keep the skin hydrated and use a minimum SPF 30.
What does the treatment feel like?
The most common sensation during the procedure is a warm, scratching feeling as the pen is moved around the face. You may also notice more sensitivity in certain places of the treatment area.
